Default Euphonon is SOLD

Well, I just picked this up a few months back. I have been chasing it for some time. It’s from 2006 Ark New Era Round Shoulder Euphonon and in excellent shape. An AGF’er was the original owner. It was at Gruhn’s a bit and I missed it, then on Reverb and I missed it and then it popped up again here a few months back. I’m very glad I jumped on it. As of yesterday it was my daily player but of course a vintage guitar has just come up and to get that I need to sell 2 quickly so the last 2 in are up for sale. Now $SOLD net insured and shipped in the 48. If you can issue your own shipping tag or live in Southern California I’ll take another $100 off the price..

This one has a beautiful Adirondack top and Oak back & sides which Larsons used back in their day. These guitars have their own special sound due to the spruce/rosewood laminate cross braces. Players like Roy Book Binder and Stefan Grossman play Tony Klassen’s Ark New Era guitars for that old Larson sound. Nice round profile neck- not fat. 1 3/4” at the nut and 2 5/16” at the bridge, a great fingerpicker for that bluesy sound.

FEATURES:
Adirondack Top
White Oak back and sides
Mahogany neck
Ebony fretboard and ebony bridge
Waverly Tuners
1-3/4” nut
2-5/16” bridge spacing
25.5” scale length
16” body

Body dimensions just about the same as a Martin M/0000. There are 2-3 small nicks on the top lower bout. Plays and sounds great! Tons of volume, strong, clean fundamental bass, and a very sweet tone. Wonderful guitar for fingerpicking, but also shines well when flat picked. Very strong midrange voice, with original hard case.

The previous owner graciously is letting me use his video:

Funny, I almost jumped on this beauty when it was on Reverb! Didn't realize it was the one at Gruhns too... Man, I'm sure it's a great guitar. GLWS.

I have one of Tony's Senoritas; he also worked on my Larson Prairie State. He does fantastic work.

The Larson tone is very different from Martin Gibson or Taylor. It is built by one master luthier with a 2 year wait list with hot hide glue throughout. The Adirondack top on a 16” guitars makes it loud and clear when it’s pushed hard, yet with a hand made, very light build, it is extremely responsive to finger picking or fingerstyle. The Oak back and side are tonally between mahogany and maple. The tone is clear, fundamental with long sustain and a full midrange.

It’s a fantastic guitar.

Shipping is included in the price but if you are in SoCal or can issue your own call tag, I’ll take another $100 off.

Down another $100. I’d like to sell this guitar before the cold weather sets in for shipping.
