Thanks for sharing the pictures, Joe! I can't get over how silky that mahogany looks. I know you can't wait to get it in your hands.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

I'll have more pictures at some point but for now these midsize files are all I've got.

My delay in taking delivery of the guitar means it's staying at Jim's a little longer. He sent me a note saying he can't put it down -- which means the guitar will have plenty of "soul" by the time I receive it...

If Jim cannot put it down, it has to be amazing! Jim Olson is the best.

Can't wait to hear some of your clips of this one Joe; if you can stop admiring it long enough to play it. Looks like there were one or two cosmetic "upgrades" here...

Seems like guitars are like buses: You wait for ages and then two come along at once - can't be many people who have had a guitar like this and your Kraut arrive within weeks of one another?

What are you getting for Christmas I wonder?!

cheers,
Steve

I've been keeping a few Carole King songs in my repertoire -- but incidentally, nothing from James Taylor. I'll work on that now.

And yeah, over 25% of the cost of the guitar are those paua inlays. I couldn't resist them! LOL

I initially wasn't supposed to go all out on the Kraut but I couldn't help adding options here and there. And then came that piece of BRW...

As for Christmas, unfortunately there's no children in our family here in Montreal, so Christmas lost a bit of its magic over the years.

I want to believe in Christmas again, so I think I'll order a ToneRite for my Olson...

I know you mentioned in another thread that a small part of you regretted not going with a more subdued look. I hope that's only a very small part of you, because that is one sexy guitar. I love all the fanciness. It looks like it was dipped in abalone. I love it. You're a very lucky guy. I hope it plays as amazing as it looks (as if there is any doubt).

Thanks!

I really wanted both the "excessive abalone" and the "simple and vintage" looks. I went with the abalone version as I figured it would be easier to find a simple model on the used market if it ever comes to that.

I am very anxious to play this guitar!
