Armrests for classical guitars
Any one know of an aftermarket armrest for classical guitars that is worth buying?

Look into the John Pearse arm rests. The slim line version works well on Classical guitars.
I trimmed the wider section of mine a little bit for purely cosmetic appearance

I don't think I noticed any change in the sound from the guitar. But I did notice a nice comfort improvement.
Bradford @ This is Classical guitar has a nice article about how he likes the armrest of his guitars. He won't own a guitar without one now. But his are part of the luthier's design, not an add on.

I have been noticing that on all my guitars if lift my arm off the guitar while playing it's gets a little louder and I can feel it vibrating a bit more, on my new classical guitar when my arm come on and off the guitar I get almost like a wah effect - it's wierd!

Way back 40 years ago I nopticed a marked difference when my forearm rested on the top of my decard-topped dread. I've now got JP armrests on all my acoustics.

I've been taking the Pearse slimline junior rests, shaving them down to more of a consistent "cresent" and putting an exotic wood overlay on them to match either the b/s wood or the binding of the instrument. These are Koa and Cocobolo.
They certainly don't have to be very wide to work - and for me they work twofold. First, as intended to keep your arm from dampening the sound, but also to allow me to put a little pressure on them to help keep the guitar from sliding away when playing the the classical position with the foot stool. And actually, I think the have the greatest sonic effect on smaller bodied guitars with lighter bracing and softer tops (like classicals!)
