At2021 vs at2031
I am going to buy cardioid condenser microphone,

These are both great instrument mics. For live performance of acoustic guitar you won't notice the difference between the two mics. The improvements are swamped by the realities of a live venue (even if fairly quiet). Which are mainly background noise, room dynamics, PA system, and the desk you're going in to.
For recording in a quiet environment, the AT2031 might be slightly 'better', but not significantly, and nothing that would have you thinking that you made the wrong choice. The AT2021 is smaller, comes with a clamp and nice little pouch, and costs less. Cheaper to replace if you break it or lose it. Pretty much my choice to have in a gig bag for live use. |
