Default Who has been the best James Bond?

Yes, this thread is a takeoff on https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=593139 initiated by jklotz which I thought would have been enhanced by a poll. As I said in the other thread, Sean Connery was the first James Bond I ever saw and will remain the quintessential James Bond in my estimation. However, I also included the option to choose someone who has never been James Bond but could and should be...

Default Hmmmmmm.....

Connery is in a class of his own. There's been a couple good ones...but my choice (for the modern era)is Daniel Craig.

Connery is the standard by which all other Bonds are measured.

I am on mobile so can’t vote but would vote for Connery and Craig in equal measures.

I just remembered the unofficial spoof film of Casino Royale that had David Niven as a retired Bond and Peter Sellers as an imposter. We saw the film again a couple of years ago. It wasn’t good...

Then there is the original Casino Royale, black and white with American Barry Nelson as Bond...

Agreed 100%. Connery was perfect for titillating 1960’s Bond. As film changed, Craig is the guy for hardcore, action oriented, sensitive, thoughtful Bond.

I voted for Sean Connery as well but I love how Mike Meyers spoofed the franchise with the Austin Powers Movies. I mean, I can’t even say the name of the love interest from Dr. No here. lol

Internationally, this rates second only to "Ginger or Mary Ann" in pole frequency.

Are you mixing it up the character played by Honor Blackman in Goldfinger?

'Honey Ryder' was the female character in Dr No, suggestive enough but I'm not game to post the one pictured below!

I love Bond's expression when she tells him her name.

"I must be dreaming."

Ah. Gold finger my mistake. These movies were before my time. I loved the guy who threw his derby hat. By the way is it me or was it the same actor in Austin Powers who threw his shoe?

Sean Connery...until Daniel Craig came along. All the others, including Connery hard to believe they had a license to kill. Craig? Oh yeah, big time.

That would have been a good premise for a series, I think.
