Default Gibson LG-2 Western

For anyone wondering if the new LG-2 Nathaniel Rateliff Western was any good. I can wholeheartedly say, YES! I have been on a quest to find one in stock for the past 6 months and finally found one on Zzounds.com. It arrived a couple of days ago and I am blown away by the big sound from a smaller guitar! Also, the looks are unbelievable! Reminds me of a Southern Jumbo I, unfortunately, had to sell a few years back. If you've been on the fence about the LG-2 Western, don't wait any longer! Buy one while you can!

Very cool. I have only seen a couple in the last few years. Always wondered how ones sounds. A cool dressed up LG-2 in a good SJ way. Good investment too! My guess is they will be scarce and limited production. Enjoy! Dennis

Awesome! That's what I wanted at first, but the Red Spruce top and the looks won me over on the LG-2 Western. Plus, I still haven't been able to track down a '50's Original LG-2... So happy for you!

I've been pining after an LG-2, I've never so much as seen one in person let alone played one.

I bought a 50's Original last fall and I love it, but if I had some extra money I would have definitely gone after the LG-2 Western. Enjoy it!!

Looks like Bozeman pretty much just added a red spruce top and a Country & Western neck to a standard production LG2. Interesting but I guess it would come down to balancing the desirability of these features with the upcharge.

The binding is slightly different as well as the exclusive custom teardrop pickguard that isn't found on any other Gibson models. I think the Adi top is almost worth the upcharge in itself. Throw in all the special appointments and custom features and it is a great value if you ask me. Plus, it's really cool having the Gibson Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity!

I hate to break it to you, but there are plenty of J-45s with that pickguard.

I'd love to see a picture of one. Because in my 23 years of buying and selling guitars I have never seen a J45 with a brown/green tint pickguard. The teardrop design yes, but not that shade of brown and green color that is used. The colors are even more vibrant in person!

In that case my apologies, I did not notice the color difference.
