Thanks for the comparison, although a true comparison would be with both guitars having new sets of identical strings. Thanks again for posting.

Both have new strings as of this week.

I could easily hear the difference. To my mind, in short... The Martin favors the low end and is scooped in the mids. Feels more like a rhythm instrument. The Taylor is more balanced and I would think more suited to lead playing that uses all 6 strings. Also probably a better choice for strumming where the guitar needs to be more "forward". The Martin would be more in the back rhythm section.

The martin sound is the sound that i like the most, .......not that the taylor sound is bad its a great sounding guitar as well. if someone offered me one or the other for free, and i couldnt take both, it would be a hard choice but i think i would take the martin everytime. .....i just love that sound

Apples and oranges. These instruments are way different, and for a good reason. Different types of music (generally-not always.)
