PRICE DROP Player's grade ALL KOA 1988 Shanti SC (00/H) - NOW $3000 OBO
Looking to sell my Shanti SC from 1988 in incredible koa. The tone of this guitar is off the charts. The koa has really opened up and it sparkles in all registers and sounds much bigger than its L-00/ SC model H style body.
The guitar plays incredibly well but is definitely in player's grade condition. There are lots of shallow scratches, pick marks, dents and dings. The neck was reset at some point and cosmetically is not the cleanest job. It has an appropriately sized belly for a guitar of this vintage and there is a finish crack on the center seam below the bridge with no evidence of actual separation. There is a ghost line along the seam from above the bridge to below the bridge. There is also a little bit of binding separation on the treble side at the end of the fretboard extension. The finish is heavy affected where your right ar covers the lower bout that is noticeably matte and somewhat grime-y (but I think that part could polish out relatively nicely. The back is significantly cleaner, however, there is a 2-inch or so crack. It is unclear if it has been repaired since there is a bit of a smudge over it on the inside of the body which could be glue, but it could also be open (I am more of the mind that it is open at the moment but haven't fully investigated). All in all, if you want a rare guitar at an affordable price that plays and sounds amazing and don't care so much about looks, this is your guitar! I got this guitar from a store in Hawaii and think it lived pretty close to the ocean. The case looks as would be expected for something approaching 40 years old and the latches are covered in surface rust, but is functional. Any questions, please email at gandhi85 AT aol DOT com or PM. PRICE DROP TO $3000 plus shipping and any fees. Tuesday bump. Price is OBO. I realized after many years of denying it, I am a dread guy after all, so no need for anything smaller anymore.

I know Michael Hornick's work from the Telluride Bluegrass Festival where every year he would donate one of his guitars for their "Telluride Troubadour" contest. My duo partner from the 1990's won one a Shanti guitar and it was an amazing resonant instrument.
Maybe you can get some more detailed specs on the guitar, nut size, scale length and such, and possibly a recording so people can know more on your guitar? I know Shanti guitars cost a small fortune if you buy one and Michael has retired from building guitars after about 144 guitars. Here is his website: http://shantiguitars.com/ |
