Original Tune - "My Kind of Town"
The other day my band pre-taped a performance for a streaming "festival" and I asked my partner to break this one out because I liked it.
The song is inspired by a couple of tunes—David Wilcox's "Saturday They'll All Be Back Again" and this particular performance of Steve Earle's "Fort Worth Blues.", and as I always say when I play it, it's about not really liking the place where you grew up. Sorry for the glitching. Not sure what's up there. This show was "warts and all." Obligatory gear nerd stuff: Guitar: 2011 Breedlove C25/SR American Series. Mics: AKG 414s Vocal preamp: UA LA610 Guitar preamp: Sebatron VMP4000e Reverb: Valhalla Vintageverb Happy to explain the double capo thing, but it's not like that's new anymore. |

That is SWEET. Great song. Great performance. Great voice. Great video (except for the glitches).

Another thing: I think it's clever to title a song the same as something else famous, "My Kind of Town." You never know who's going to find it or click on it because of the more familiar song. - Can't hurt.

You know it’s funny. I wrote this song before I did a DEEP dive on Frank, so I had no idea it was already a famous title! |
