I do, and I will. I want to be 100% sure those string ends are fully In place.

I have to wonder why the pin-less holes could not have been perpendicular to the top. You could then put pins in in the pinless if you wanted to.

I can sort of see why the angle might help with the pinless design - it’s easier to keep tension on the string with less of an angle in the bend, perhaps. I just rewatched Alistair’s string changing video, and noticed something. While maintaining tension on the string with his right hand at the bridge, he uses his left hand to insert the string into the tuner, and then do the ‘overwrap and lock’ method on the tuner itself. At that point it would be easy to maintain tension on the bridge while bringing it up to pitch, as the tuner end, effectively, cannot move. I hate that method. It makes changing strings a total pain in the butt, and, I think, compromises the integrity of the string at the tuner. I’ll carry on with my handy hex wrench, and comment no more. It works for me, and I’m happy with that.

i'm the lucky guy. after 2 string changes on my amicus and many on my x20, i can say i love the pinless bridge. but i put the string in the tuner hole first. sometime.

I will try this ^^^ technique next time... the part I fiddle with the most.

There’s no shame in using an appropriately sized object (tapered 3/16” dowel, golf tee, hex tool, etc.) to hold the ball end in place, and it makes string changing so much quicker and easier on the Emerald pinless bridge. 😊

I guess it should be called a "mostly pinless bridge".

Maybe a "supply your own pin" pinless bridge?
