Also... I forgot 2 things...
Can you record videos on the phone/tablet at the same time you are using the app?
What isn't available on android?
Yes I use 2 condenser mics with 48V at same time. No probs.

The Spire App doesn't have any video function.
But yes ... I have used both the Spire recorder App .. AND the iPad's Video cam at same time.

Sorry.. I have No experience with Android.

Alright! The Spire arrived! It is EXACTLY WHAT YOU FOLKS SAID IT WAS! Opened the box. Charged it. Plugged in my mic and my guitar. Pushed the sound check button, played and sang (that’s what I call it). Sound check stopped. Pushed the record button. 2 tracks recorded. Pushed the record button again and started tapping the guitar. 3 tracks done. Back to the record button and I did a little background vocal. 4 tracks. Went to the MIX screen on iPad. Moved the tracks around to see what was going on. It really was that easy..
Lots of questions and lots of research down the drain. I have been so frustrated in trying to record our trio that I had given up more than once. There is a mental barrier that prevents me from recording , when you say DAW I begin to wander away. Only half kidding....
Now I need to figure out SoundCloud....but I need to do some recording now.
Thanks to all who commented here about the Spire. When we become famous I am going to treat all of You.
71 is not too old to be famous is it?

Hey -- That's great to hear that you got it going on so swiftly...

Let me know if you need any help with Sound CLoud. But you'll see how easy it is to publish it to SC from the APP. Just go to SC first and sign up (it's free).

Looking forward to hearing some of your music!

Default First attempt Spire Studio

Took delivery on Wednesday. Cindy let me open it last pm. ( after a lot of pestering from me ) 😁. Played around with a Lyle Lovett tune. 4 tracks. Just used the onboard mic too. What a hoot! I’ll be having a blast with this thing!
Thanks for the inspiration folks. Captain Jim in particular

After reading this entire thread, I bit!

Should be a great tool for quick recordings to send to friends and my Skype teacher via my iPad and Dropbox.

I also have a Zoom H5 but I think the convenience and performance justifies trying the Spire.

Default Good choice

Bob well worth it. The on board condenser mic is an excellent quality, making quick recordings a breeze. The Spire app is user friendly as well.
Congrats

Congrats!

It's fast and easy when it comes to the sharing aspect .. The workflow of creating, recording, multi-track, edit, mix, and export is pretty seamless and all done from the iPad App!

I just got a pair of Oktava MK-012 small condenser mics...Will be doing some testing today.

I can post some clips later if anyone is interested.

Well I'm definitely seeing one of these in my future! Thanks for posting all the feedback on it lads - Spire should give you all commissions!

Also would love to hear what results you get with those Oktava mics Jake!

Hey, Bob and PackMule - I think you'll enjoy the ease and convenience of the Spire.

After doing my "7 songs in 7 days" thing with the Spire, trying something different each time, it inspired (get it?) me to try my hand at writing a song... something I haven't done for about 45 years.

So, here it is: "Too Old Now to Die Young"...

And, here's what I looked like last time I wrote a song...

I've hardly changed.

I went with a 4 chord rock pattern for the verse and wrote some words in about an hour; less time than that to do 5 tracks with the Spire. I am so enjoying this recorder.
