Change your preferences so that you automatically subscribe to any new threads you create or reply to. Then you only need to go to one place: your subscribed threads.

Great idea to have all the builds/customs in one place.

Thanks for that idea, Juston. I have been using the "New Posts" search and ignoring which forum they're on. But this, to me, is a very good idea and I will be checking here often.

Thanks JR!

I am soooooooo confused. I'm an Old man ugh, don't like change ugh.
I think Custom shop here means ordered to your specs and also those build by single luthier. As we all know how efficient the moderators are, I am sure they will just move the threads to the right place.

Great idea. As I get closer to placing a custom order, I like to refer back to many of threads that will be in this new section. It beats hunting down all of the build threads!

BTW, I'm considering a custom Estaban that I'm sure will be an interesting thread! Considering a "Hot Rod Lincoln" kinda look! Maybe a resonator so I can use an actual hub cap that I've been keepiing in my garage.

Thanks Again, J.R. This is THE best guitar forum on the net!!!!

I think it's a good idea. Depending on my mood, I'll scroll thru the GD section to discover build threads, and really enjoy the progress pics. I tend to like to wait until the guitar is almost done, and then watch it grow from specs to reality. The recent "Tunnel 13" comes to mind as one I particularly enjoyed. So, like I said in Open Mic, you'll never please everyone, and some people would complain if you hanged 'em with a new rope!

Great idea, JR! Thanks for copying my thread here as well!

I have to agree that the general area was getting crowded. It's nice that us custom guitar fanatics have our own section. Wonderful.

I agree--great idea. Plus, it will give me an opportunity to test my resistance to GAS.

Looks like attendance is picking up in this section; an inspired change which I am following with interest.

I've been lurking for a few days and have enjoyed in particular the Custom shop threads. I'm an aspiring luthier, taken a few violin making courses but have decided that i'm going to go in the direction of Guitars. At present i've been buying wood and getting ready for my first build. I've looked at so many different styles of guitars and it is so hard to decide what my first one should be.

I love some of Benedetto's guitars, but i don't want to do an arched one for my first one. So i'm designing one from scratch. I've seen some ideas i'd like to incorporate into my own guitar on this forum and hope that sorta thing is ok?

Any how I'd like to thank all the people who have posted their creations in the forum here whether they made them themselves or had them made.
I was wondering if there were any good books to get a fella going in the right direction?

Hi Woods! Great moniker, by the way - quite creative!

I can't help with the books but do want to warmly welcome you and your input to the forum - and especially the custom shop!

So, thanks for joining us and I look forward to your posts.

Regards,

rr/Phil

so what's the deal on posting builds in here?

the pro builders who are sponsors can.......

amateurs can post their self builds.......

those of us who have sold a few but are still a million miles from being pros (and therefore sponsors).... whats the policy?

I just don't want to step on toes & get told off!!
