Exactly. He could care less, but he's reached a level of not caring that he feels is appropriate to the situation.

Here's an old poll I did a while back. Frustrated no but I would feel silly with a reliced guitar personally. I'd rather wear a fake Patek Philippe.

I guess I don’t have an issue with someone buying, and then altering, upgrading, or shall we say in this instance “downgrading” their guitar. I mean, most of us have changed SOMETHING on our new guitars.
What I don’t understand is someone paying a premium for “road worn”. I mean, that borders on false advertising lol. As has been noted however, the market determines it. I kinda hope it’s a fad that fades out.

I agree that it is all about presenting a false appearance, but it is not the manufacturers who are doing that. They are upfront that they are selling new guitars whose finished has been ruined.

Frustrated? Not on the slightest, it’s not my bag, and I would only buy one at an extreme bargain myself, but no, I’m not frustrated by relics.
I also would differentiate between “beat up” and “relic’d” because they are worlds apart from being the same thing. |

It definitely isn’t something I would pay a premium for.
I suppose it buys you some wiggle room when listing condition if you choose to sell.
