Collings OM1A-T and D2H Madi & German
My high end mandolin list is necessitating the sale of these very fine instruments. These absolutely nail the classic rosewood dread and dry mahogany sound better than just about anything else out there. No trades on these - only looking for straight sales - thanks
This is a 2018 OM1A-T WITH the amazing Collings handmade case. I tended to keep this one in the case just because itÂ’s such a joy to open those latches and pull out this guitar each time I played it. Both the guitar and case are in truly near mint condition. The sound is everything I wanted in a mahogany guitar: crisp and immediate, but also warm in the case of the traditional series. Being a late 2018 guitar, this has a nicely slimmed down version from the original T series instruments, which were quite thick. This is really a do-anything instrument. Great for finger style, but handles a flat pick incredibly well, which is the style I play most often. Looking for SOLD and shipped CONUS. This is a 2015 D2H with German spruce top and the straightest-grained Madagascar rosewood IÂ’ve ever seen. This guitar also has no tongue brace and the standard Collings mod v with 1 3/4 nut width. I ordered this from Lindsay Straw at the Music emporium, who played this against a Brazilian Huss &dalton and another madi Collings to give me her feedback on the overall most responsive and tone-ful instrument out of the group. She said this one had it hands-down. Even listening over the phone, I could easily hear the difference as well. This is a true hoss of a dread also responds to delicate finger style. The German spruce really adds some sweetness to the tone that can be missing in some of the red spruce standard Collings models. This one is in excellent condition, with some moderate fret wear. It comes its original Collings branded case-also in excellent condition. Looking for $SOLD shipped and paypalÂ’d conus. Last edited by jb83; 10-29-2020 at 05:31 PM. Reason: Sold |

Hi, what the nut width on the OM1A? I haven't played a T model but I hear the necks are chunky. You mention this is slimmer. Is it closer to the Collings Mod V? Both beauties. Thanks, Rob

2018 would still be a 1 3/4" nut with a vintage taper, which is still beefier than a standard Collings 1 3/4" neck and quite comfortable all around, in my opinion. The original early 2016 Traditional models had a bit beefier neck profile, which was slimmed down on the later 2016-on models. The 1 11/16" nut wasn't an option until recently - I believe starting in 2019. Hope this helps.

Thanks-these two guitars cover a lot of bases! If someone is interested in both, I’ll make them a very good deal.
