The bean counters were thinking about saving money on warranty repairs.

Watched it yesterday. He says on camera at the very beginning that's it's really a history of Gibson Jumbos, so you could make the argument the video itself is mislabeled.

Other than that, I thought it was one of Five Watt World's better episodes, in no small part because I bought a J-35 reissue last year and had a vested interest in hearing what he had to say about them.

Didn't hear anything to make me regret my decision. So yeah, I enjoyed it ... a lot!

While those Fuller braces deadened the top they were very easily removed. Once you did that you had a guitar which was braced as the pre-War SJ200s had been.

I really enjoyed this video. It was so packed full of factual information I just let myself enjoy it instead of trying to memorize and go back to re-listen to every detail. The work and research put into this is apparent. ( and appreciated)

I also watched it a few days ago.

It was interesting notwithstanding with a few date and detail errors but Gibson never kept great records like Martin did, and ey chopped and changed stuff depending on what woods, necks whatever they had at the time.

pity bout the lack of info on the pre Jumbo models.

For more info on Gibsons check out :
