Back on topic, my 2001 built WS-1000 has seen a lot of play time, and I have a heavy left hand, but its frets are holding up nicely. It is not my only player, but has certainly seen a lot of logged play time. I have already decided that any re-fret work on any guitar will be stainless steel, or maybe EVO gold if my luthier objects to SS.
A buddy of mine borrowed my RainSong for the longest week of my life and ended up buying one. He also plays out with his quite a bit. He's keeping close watch on his frets and plans on going SS as soon as it's justified.

Vance,

Glad you posted this. I will call Mr. Stearn in Gordonsville when the time comes for a refret job. He’s close to where I live.

Very pleased with the stock SS frets on my Composite Acoustics Blade. My other CFs will go SS when it’s time.

I played a gig Saturday and I didn't notice anything strange. Hopefully they will get even better with some play.

Hi Vance,

Now that you've had those stainless frets for 4 or 5 months, how do you feel about them now?

Default Stainless steel fret wear?

https://hazeguitars.com/blog/frets-are-consumables

According to what they say, stainless wears too (At the bottom of the article, they have photo showing that too).

I have a carbon fiber guitar with SS fret almost five years, cannot find any fret wear but I don't play everyday. So, would like to see how they go with others.

HA! I knew as soon as I posted that, that someone would find an example.

I cannot begin to imagine what kind of gorilla grip and playing technique would be required to cause that amount of damage to stainless steel frets.
