Default T-Rex SoulMate Acoustic

While I was at Summer NAMM I went to check out the T-Rex SoulMate Acoustic pedal and ended up recording the demo for Acoustic Guitar Magazine.

Here is a link for anyone interested.

I saw this on some of the SNAMM releases. It looks promising in terms of features. My main hope is that they got the inherent acoustic voice of the unit right before moving on the effects. If I can get the same sound out of this unit as, say, a Fire Eye Red Eye, with these features, I'd pay a lot of money for it.

Here's a video of someone actually playing it (as opposed to screaming into a mic over the SNAMM background noise):

Not exactly a lot to compare it to here, but it sounds pretty good with just a touch of reverb. However, I'm concerned that the EQ section isn't robust enough for me. I use K&K Pure Mini and have some frequencies I like to notch out.

Yes, I like to have at least a parametric mid and a notch filter in my toolbox.

There is a three band parametric EQ, phase switch, auto feedback eliminator and it has a switchable 1megohm impedance for a K&K!

Sounds great in the video! How is the eq parametric? Can I select what frequency I boost or cut? Looks like a general eq knob.

Edit: just saw another video showing parametric capability---looks/sounds great! Can't wait for some reviews!

Aero USA: if I loop a rhythm and press the boost to solo over it, will the loop get boosted also?

Kalani of course not, the loop is separate :-). It will have any of the effects recorded st the time but then it will be unaffected as you play. Sweetwater has them in stock now!

Nice ambient sounds.

What guitar/pickup rig were you using?

Did they record direct off the box or were they miking an amp?

It was their Cole Clark and was recorded direct to camera. I hadn't even tweaked the guitar or read the instructions. I'll have my unit on Saturday and will get to work on a video review!

Thanks for the info. Impressive that its directly recorded. Even sounds good on my tinny laptop speakers. I can think of some folks who'll go nuts with that thing.

I'll try it with my Aura+ pickup tomorrow. Let me know if you have any questions!
