Default "New" Yamaha Transacoustic...

They changed something... The 2017 and older models didn't sound this good. I am not sure what Yamaha did to the 2018's but it was fantastic. It ended up following me home... I was blown away by how much low and low mids were coming from a 500 dollar guitar. The reverb and chorus sounded REALLY good. I have a Tonewood amp installed on an LL16d and the FG-TA sounded better imo...

Paid 510 bucks. Didn't come with a case but that's ok. I think I paid 250 for my Tonewood amp which I will probably sell now.

I have tried one of these and yes they are pretty cool. I like them too but I have way too many guitars now.

I recently got one with the ‘vintage’ finish. So fun to play when you hit the button.

Had mine for a couple weeks now, it’s off getting dialed in at my local shop.

I started a recent NGD thread about this myself.

I read a lot of detracting posts about how you can get the same effects from amps... but the point is that you don't NEED to plug into an amp. It is a lot more fun and convenient that way, at least for me.

Indeed!

I have 2 high end amps but they are in one room of my house and both require a bit of setup. This transacoustic is grab and go and quite frankly sounds like a much more expensive guitar.

Default Yamaha

We used to get the same effect sitting in a stairwell in college.

From the Yamaha Website:

The body is an all-solid guitar based on the L-series.

A modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L series’ characteristic bright tone while enhancing the low end.

Treating the tops with Yamaha’ s exclusive A.R.E. process gives the instrument a rich, vintage quality tone, making it sound as though you’ d been playing it for years, from the very first moment you pick it up.

The fact that this guitar has been designed with an insistence on sound quality is what allows it to produce effected sounds that feels pure and natural.

Hi Yamaha state 5-8 hours but I haven't changed mine since January and I play most weeks plugged in during worship - no problems, brilliant guitar

But I don't want to have to be confined to a stairwell or a bathroom. It's nice to have the option to go out in the open space (or somewhere indoors with terrible acoustics) and still get the reverb effect without dragging an amp along.

I got myself some rechargeable batteries for my guitar. One pair is in the guitar, while another fully-charged pair waits for the first pair to run out. I think it's going to work out well.

When plugged in, are there individual tone controls or do you run it into outboard eq?
