OK, This Was a New Gig Experience

Just when I thought I'd seen / done it all.

A guy I know from Facebook runs an internet radio show out of Texas and plays tracks, originals and covers, of unsigned artists. You send him an mp3 and he plays it, but the best part is he talks up your act and plugs your gigs. That sounded like fun, so we sent him some.

Last night we had just finished and had started to pack up when a waitress says there's a phone call from a man wanting to speak to the band, so one of the girls went to get it while I packed up. A few minutes later she sent for me. It was him! The guy from Texas calling the venue just to say hi and to request a song, one of our originals. I told him we had just finished for the night but that on our next gig we'd play that song and dedicate it to him. I'm going to video it and send it to him. Maybe he'll use the audio on his show.

But the best part - while I was talking to him the girls finished packing up.
