Default Saving all your favoriter tabs and songs?

´Hi,

I'm learning to play different guitar songs from different sources (youtube channels, Tabs-ultimateguitar etc.)

I'm just wondering: how do you guys keep all the songs you have learned organized so you can retrieve them later-on, let's say at a campfire when playing guitar around the fire?

So far I have been thinking about saving songs to google drive, or printing out my favorite ones.

I print them out, punch holes in the edge and save them in looseleaf notebooks. I have different types of songs in an assortment of notebooks and duplicate some songs so I can carry whatever songs i might want based upon my circumstances. It has worked well. I grab a notebook and head to my porch, campfire, or whatever!

I have a loose leaf notebook for this.
But I also have a leather “journal” style notebook.
My favorite songs end up hand written in chordpro format.
As do my notes on various things.

I save them as PDFs in a folder on my iCloud Drive. This way I can access them with my iPad, iPhone or laptop whenever I want them. I also print out hard copies that I save in 3-ring binders.

Another vote for this one. But then, I'm not only "old school," I actually am OLD!

I have several notebooks of songs saved from up until a few years ago.
Nowadays I keep new songs on my tablet using the Open Song app. This works if I just need to save and access chords and lyrics.
Sheet music with written classical notation is still on paper. I'll probably copy some of it as a .pdf file as needed.

I used to make and use 3x5" index cards to learn new songs. Now I use the Ultimate Guitar Android app. Works great. No more digging through the cards. As for knowing songs for campfires or gigs, I typically retain 50-60 songs from memory - enough for a 3-hour gig. So the app is only for learning new songs and then retain old songs no longer played regularly and so forgotten.

i use a program called SongBook. They have an iOS app also so I just keep the folder on DropBox and I have access to all the music where ever. You can copy/paste from some sources on the Internet and it does the conversions, but you may need to do some editing for it to look right.

I use Setlist Maker on my iPad. Threw away the binders and printed stuff years ago. Tabs are stored in the cloud for backup and everything resides on the iPad so I'm not concerned if there's no wi-fi, and I'm not using my data plan to access anything except for when I add a new song and back it up to the cloud.

I started a thread on a similar topic maybe a month ago and there were lots of replies. You may want to look at that one. Had to do with managing music.

I’m new school, a retired IT Manager but I use notebooks also. Easy to carry and always available.

What's wrong with just learning the song and remembering it? My duo has a 250+ song list and we know them all plus many others. Of course, we're VERY old school from the days when you wouldn't be caught dead having a music stand with lyrics/chords on stage. To each his own, though........
