Have you asked Emerald what they ship it with? It might vary according to the pickup configuration that you've chosen.

The answer from Kevin at Emerald:
Hey Jim You can put electric guitar strings if you prefer but I personally think the acoustic sound great with the humbucker. Its gives a strong resonant tone and is really enjoyable to play. We put Daddario EXP 11 0.012 gauge strings on our X10s. Kind regards Kevin |

I first used GHS White Bronze about 20 years ago. At first when gigging I used a removable magnetic sound hole pickup, and the 52% nickel alloy is magnetically sensitive. Then I realized that these strings also sounded good for a long time - often three months or more. They were my preferred long-life strings before coated strings like Elixir was on the market, and I still use them on certain acoustic guitars.
I recently discovered that GHS also makes a twelve string set in this alloy, but have not been able to order them yet. They seem to be not stocked by most suppliers. |
