The patterns of decay on this plant's leaves were quite amazing.

Took these about 2 hours ago on my Sunday morning walk here in Eden.

The aspens in central Colorado are at their peak right now, and are breathtaking. Photos don't do them justice, but here's one anyway.

Beautiful! Looks like a nice day out. I’m heading up to Tahoe this weekend and can’t wait to see the color and feel that crisp fall air.

If I might be so bold as to offer some photography feedback, I would say fill the frame with your subject—in this case the aspens. Your photo is all in the middle of this shot, with the clouds, mountains and aspens. For me this crop has too much empty sky and foreground. Not that sky and foreground can’t be fantastic, but here I don’t think they’re detracting from the potential power of this image.

I love looking through these photography threads. I especially enjoy the nature shots. You guys are great. I am only a little jealous.

Trying hard to unsee the zombies (the last one bears an uncanny resemblance to my brother-in-law) - thanks, Steve

For something a little more tranquil, here are the Range Lights at Bailey's Harbor, Door County, Wisconsin.

I wouldn't mind betting that the lighthouse keeper, back in the day when the lights were oil-fired, had a scare or two. He had to make the 1000 foot walk from the Upper lighthouse (where his lodging was) to the Lower, every 3 hours, come rain, snow or shine...
