It Funny, up until i picked up the guitar 9 years ago at 44 my hobby lifespan was 5 to 6 years.. i dont ever think of getting rid or even putting it on the back burner ever.

Golf, 68 Camaro, computer gamer, plastic model building, Marathon running, Triathlons, weapon collecting, RC plane flying building andflying, drone flying to name most.

I still have most of the stuff connected to myold hobbies,

As I speak right now the Wife and I are moving into her Brothers house. He passed away 3 years ago, we fixed it up and tried to sell it last year with no luck.

Its a beautiful custom built ranch home on 30 arces around all farm land. The only bad part is its 54 miles one way to work for me. I only have to last 7 1/2 years till retirement.... for this place i will make it no problem..

I even have a Guitar room for myself, just have to figure out how i want to deck it out in the near future, sounds like another hobby to me! LOL

Guitar was my first love in my early teens. That went on for about 15 years, then life got in the way. I got into photography (as a hobby) in a major way, and that continued until about 10 years ago, when I got back into guitars (and other fretted instruments) and the photography started to decline. I still do both pursuits, but consider myself just an enthusiastic amateur at both.

Count me as another photography geek prior to becoming obsessed with guitar. I used to have NGD's in that hobby too....new glass days. Lenses can be as expensive as really nice guitars....and just as versatile.

Motorcycles for me as well. My Dad go t me into racing scrambles when I was a kid. Around 6th or 7th grade, He crashed and broke his shoulder. He lost interest, so my racing days were over. Started playing his guitars. Started with a John Denver book I believe. I'm thinking 1971 or '72 maybe.

Had some kind of guitar in my hands since I was two years old, so that's my main gig - along the way I raced slot cars, built model cars, did some competitive target-pistol shooting and NHRA bracket drag racing...

Motorcycles for me. Seems to be a theme. Makes it easy to rationalize another guitar when they’re so much cheaper and safer and more accessible at all times.

Guitar has never been a hobby for me (60+ years) - always a source of revenue: player/retail store owner/repairman/builder. I don't play unless it's a paying gig. I went to a prestigious art school but don't do that unless there's a commission involved. I guess I've never really had a hobby - been too busy trying to make a living. On a happier note, now that I'm 75 and pretty much retired, I'm trying to do a little of these things for myself but it's difficult......

Astronomy. I still have a telescope and go out occasionally at night, but my passion for it has dwindled. There was a comet that was fairly bright about a month ago that got a lot of people excited. It was cool to observe it. I still get a kick out of observing Jupiter and Saturn. But, my guitar is much more accessible and I don't have to worry about getting clouded out at night in order to play it.
