Cancion Mixteca
I have been trying to learn the Ry Cooder arrangement of "Cancion Mixteca" that appears in the soundtrack of the film "Paris, Texas." But I also came across this guy's version that I like even more. However it appears that he is playing in different positions or is playing in a tuning other than standard. It's hard to make out. Some of it seems to follow the tab I have and then he goes to some different positions that I'm having trouble figuring out. Other than that, both these versions sound pretty much the same.
If anyone has any tips or advice on this tune please let me know. Thanks! The Ry Cooder version: Last edited by mherrcat; 05-23-2019 at 01:47 PM. |

I hadn't heard this tune before, but it is really nice. Do you have a decent tab?
I'm pretty sure the other bloke (not Ry Cooder) is playing in Standard.

My advice would be to learn that tab by heart. Once done, go back to the other video and see his version is different.
