I use straps on most of my guitars, whether I'm seated or standing. Mostly because I move around a lot and sometimes need my hands free. I will use various strap locks if I feel the pull angle is over aggressive or if I'm at all worried about the security of the fit. A $0.50 rubber washer is a small price to pay for peace of mind.

Absolutely. And I use loctite on the nut where they are threaded into the leather end of the strap as i had that nut work loose.

I like having strap button but I don’t use a strap. Is it weird?

There seems to be some confusion as to what "strap locks" refers to.
I voted yes as I have long used the product - the Schaller Straplock on all my guitars that I might ever use whilst standing - which is most. I use them attached via the END of the heel, and only on the neck end, never on the tail, apart from on my square neck dobro. Perhaps LeDave could clarify what he means?

I use heel-buttons and the pickups’ end-pin jacks on all my guitars.
I understand the attraction of strap-locks (I have Schaller Strap-Locks on my Strat’s strap), but personally I don’t want my acoustics’ straps to be anything but leather and stitching, I don’t want heavy chunks of metal at each end waiting to scratch/dent my guitars’ finishes. I have the correct-size holes punched in them and they work for me - I never let a guitar hang by the strap alone, I always have at least one hand on it. If others choose to go the strap-lock route, that’s their choice and it’s absolutely fine, no criticism here. Just not for me. The usual disclaimers apply......IMHO, YMMV etc.

I tend to use Schaller locks on my solid body electrics, but no locks on acoustics.

I don't play electric enough to have worried about it.
I use a Strap-Jack when I play the guitar with a jack when not plugged in. that sort of counts.?. https://www.elderly.com/collections/...ack-strap-lock |

I don't use straps when I'm playing acoustic guitar... at my age, if folks want me to play for them, they can darned well find a decent chair/stool for me to sit upon!
In my 60 years of playing acoustic guitar, and over 50 years of performing with one, I can count on one hand (and have fingers left over!) how many times I've used a strap with an acoustic... so, no, I don't use strap locks. I have a good friend who has been a lifetime singer/songwriter guitar player, and he ALWAYS has a strap on his acoustic guitars! And, yes, he uses strap locks - keeps the butt end of the strap on the guitar when he puts them away in their cases, laying the strap itself lengthwise along his guitar... always seemed like overkill and more than a bit of a pain in the butt whenever I've gone to play one of his guitars... but, it works for him, as he's quite active when he performs. Now, in contrast to acoustic guitar, I ALWAYS use a strap when I play electric, even if it's casual, just hangin' around and playing... and I stand when I play electric, as well. I just like the way the guitar "hangs" when I'm standing - everything's easier; chording or single note stuff, even strumming... But I don't use strap locks on my electric either. Never had any sort of "incident", save once when I did not affix the butt end of the strap completely and the guitar "started" to slide/fall... fortunately I caught it without having it hit the ground. Good lesson for me, to always make certain that the strap is on the guitar securely. Perhaps if I were playing "out" a lot on electric, I'd go for strap locks...? I don't know if I'd resort to that or not.

Never use them on acoustics. Always use them on electrics.

I've used those on electric guitars. I think they're cool.
I don't use locks on the acoustics.

I use the Tapastring strap lock on all of my straps. They work great.
