Fitted a DiMarzio Angel in my Martin D JR
https://flic.kr/p/FWsXdg
Removed the awful Fishman Sonitone, installed a DiMarzio Angel passive humbucking pickup. It matches the tortoise pick guard and makes a plain guitar look a bit more elegant IMO. I had to fit a new saddle after removing the UST. Very happy, played it out live last weekend through a Baggs Session DI and I was pleased with the results.

Thanks for the report. I've been thinking that it might be interesting to blend that pickup with my iRig Acoustic Stage mic. The little iRig preamp has an AUX IN for a second source.

You made a good choice. I bought a Black Angel for my old J45 so that I can amplify the guitar without drilling any holes or installing and end pin jack. It's right up there with the best sound hole pickups.

Congratulations Nick!
Isn't that pickup great?! I love it on my 000-15. Play on.

The Angel is one the nicest looking mag pickups I've seen, along with the Sunrise and the Rango (a weird Chinese brand mag that looks like a wooden Sunrise).
I don't vibe on its sound all alone but with a K&K or some sort of SBT it seems really solid.
