Default Removing glue stains

What is the best way to remove adhesive stains inside a guitar from wire clip holders, battery bag velcro strips, double-sided tape etc.?
These stains are not a strong as super glue but still not easy to get rid of.
Any help appreciated.

Alcohol for the sticky bits, sandpaper for discolouration

I'd use naptha (VM&P) before going to alcohol. It often works on adhesive tape residue and is safer for nitrocellulose lacquer finishes.
