RIP Mr. Prine. May the heavenly lights be blinkin' on your chartreuse four door Lincoln.

The man kept a Christmas tree up all year 'round, first at his house, then at the office. When he went to record in RCA Studio A he took it with him.. They'd turn out the lights and sing to the tree. The studio eventually asked that the tree be left there. His wife said he was so sentimental that he took his kids to the Radio City Music Hall Christmas spectacular and cried when Santa came out.

I haven't looked through all the pages/posts to see if this was put up or not, but if you were a true fan and missed this - it's definitely worth the time.

CBS Sunday morning full interview.

On the shoulders of giants does music truly progress.
His style unique, and his ability to put universal profound observation into short simple identifiable song, the mark of true songwriting genius. His earthly presence will be missed, but his legacy remains. Fair winds my friend.
For you John :

Default RIP...John

Sorry to say John Prine passed away from the virus.
The first song I ever learned to play was Dear Abby.
Such a great singer/songwriter...

A truly, truly great song. “From the diamonds on the sidewalk to the dirt in the gutter you carry those bruises to remind you...”

John Prine left us with great songs to sing, and he brought me a whole bunch of smiles, some illegal, some wistful.

Rest in peace, songwriter.

John said it best himself:

I'll be halfway to Heaven with Paradise waitin'
Just five miles away from wherever I am

Farewell John and thanks for the good memories
