2002 Gibson AJ Luthier’s Choice Brazilian/Ren Ferguson

This Gibson is truly a phenomenal guitar and honestly you just don’t see Gibson Brazilian Custom AJ’s everyday! *The previous owner bought it from Gruhn Guitars of Nashville and actually met Ren Ferguson there. *He states Ren talked him into buying the guitar and was the builder. *Ren didn’t sign the label, so I talked to Gibson in Bozeman. *They couldn’t say whether Ren did or didn’t build this particular Luthier’s Choice Custom AJ but did say that Ren had his hands involved with all the Luthier’s choice guitars of the 2002 era. It is an amazing guitar and I do have plenty of pics to forward. Please email with any questions. The Gibson Advanced Jumbo is regarded by many as the best flat top ever built. Many proud Herringbone D-28 owners have been put to shame by a good AJ, hence the AJ's nickname of "the Bonecrusher". This one is top notch all around with all of the quality you would expect from the Gibson Custom Shop in Montana. Hand built by master luthier Ren Ferguson, then head of the Montana Custom Shop, it features gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood back, sides, fretboard and bridge and an Adirondack Red Spruce top. Since Gibson can no longer use any Brazilian Rosewood for anything on their guitars this one is highly collectible and nothing similar will ever be made again. The Brazilian is gorgeous. The Adirondack is wide grain, as it should be, the pickguard is modern fire-stripe, the Brazilian rosewood fingerboard has beautiful grain, no fret wear and plays like a dream. Top, back and neck are bound in single-ply ivoroid, tuners are bona fide Waverly nickel-plated butterbean-button open-backs. Has it's original Custom Shop case. The action is low and exceedingly comfortable.* An LR Baggs top of the line pick up system is installed.* I bought this from Gruen Guitars in Nashville. This is an incredible flat top that will keep up with the best!* Lower 48 States only, please. saddle is *2 1/8 and nut is 1 11/16. *Does have a surface bump in lower surface bout- 2mm x 5 mm.
