Default An old Moody Blues tune

Hi folks.

I played around a bit with some multi-track recording for this tune.

I used both of my guitars to create separate rhythm tracks then I added a lead track with my 6-string and then a vocals track.

It was a lot of fun putting together. I hope you like it.

Hey, nice job man. I enjoyed it.

I saw the Moody Blues in '71. They were one of my favorite bands during that time period, and they were great in concert.

Some nice "old school" graphics too!

Nicely done Rob , "Story in Your Eyes" is just one of the many beautiful tunes Justin Hayward has written. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, guys.

A couple of other Moody Blues tunes have been suggested to me to learn, Question being one and I can't remember the other. They fit my vocal range so one of these days I'll have to give them a try.

Thanks for listening and the kind words.

Nice version, Rob! I like the level of effect on the lead - kind of thick sound, but not too much distortion. Fits it nicely, especially over that strumming. Slide show was pretty cool too - looks like a lot of fun to try putting something like that together!

Very cool. Thanks guys.

Shawlie, I have to be honest, the distortion was a little by accident. I wanted distortion, but it was a crap shoot on the adjustment. I tweaked it once, not really knowing what affect it would have, and there it was. And as I adjusted the gain on each track, I have to admit, it really came out cool.

What I thought was really luck was the still capture that YouTube picked for the video. I liked the picture when I found it because it looks like it's moving when you look at it. But when I saw it was the avatar for the video, I was stoked.

Very nice job on this, Rh! It has that old Moody Blues (70s era) feel to it. I think you could add some reverb to your vocals. Would fit nicely into this one with the electric sounds.

I'm a big Moody Blues fan (especially of their older stuff) and you do this one justice!
Nice job.

Ryan, I did put some reverb on the vocals. I didn't want it overdone so it's toned down quite a bit. Thanks for the great compliment.

Catdaddy, another great compliment. Thank you very much.

Great job on this song Rob!

I think you did justice to the song, overall the mix is good, except for the level of the lead guitar part, a bit too loud for the mix. Very enjoyable listening!

Thanks, Rick.

I paid close attention to the volume on the lead. Some of the fills were still a little too loud. I had toned down parts of that track. I should have been a little more diligent and patient.

Thanks for the comments. Appreciate it very much.

Great job on the lead, captured the feel just right
