Default An Original by Ranger (Roy)

As I mentioned in a previous thread, I have been playing a few years (3) and writing and recording a few months. I've lurked around this area and honestly have been intimidated by the talent here!! This is an original of mine I posted a couple of weeks ago. It's a little different take on a drinking song. It's simple, but I hope you enjoy.

Verse 1
She stumbles in again
Commits the same old sins
She falls down on the floor
Like his million tears before

She’ll scream and then she’ll curse
He swears her laughs are worse
Same old drunken fight
Just another sleepless nights

Chorus 1
It’s just the storm before calm
Exploding like a bomb
She’ll wake up all alone
In a silent empty home

She stumbles down the hall
Smashes a bottle on the wall
Collapses on the floor
Half dead in front of the door

Verse 2
The story’s been the same
He’s lived with all her pain
But tonight is gotta end
He’s gonna start his life again

He’ll wish upon a star
Put his angels in the car
When she wakes they will be gone
Their last storm before the calm

Chorus

Bridge
Somewhere in the calm
She’ll find the strength to carry on
She lifts herself off the floor
And walks out that front door

Verse 3
A year and 12 steps go by
Now she sees the world thru clear blue eyes
A brand new chip in her pocket
Their smiling faces in her locket

The demons in her head
Today they’re finally dead
Tonight she sleeps alone
Tomorrow her angels come home.

Nice job, Roy. Those lyrics are deep and I can tell you put a lot of thought and emotion in them. The Stanford sounds great, is that one of the Rosewood models?

Yes Russ. That is the PSRD-28. That is the round shouldered dread. I have not played the full dread but I can't imagine what the tone of those must be because the round shoulder in unreal. Some songs I write on my Taylors, some the Stanford. I love them all!!

Thanks for listening and the kind words.

Glad you've found the gift of writing music so early on in your playing, Roy. Have you checked out any songwriting forums to hone your skills? Keep up the good work .
