Check out the Godin lines and also OM or mini-jumbo body styles. I have a very nice Simon & Patrick - solid wood Spruce and Mahogany, made in Canada, $599 new.

I would not take my fancy guitars outdoors...
You should find plenty of used guitars within your budget, while I could also suggest those I got brand new with same budget : - parlor Alvarez AP66ESB - Eastman AC122ce - Seagull Performer CW QIT (by Godin) While first two have crappy pickups, Seagull's has a good one. Godin has also the Simon & Patrick line. Don't you have Tanglewood in UK ?
