Default More Motor Racing - Goodwood Revival (Live)

The Goodwood Revival meeting (all this weekend) is in process now.

It's all about vintage racing cars and bikes and everybody dresses up in "period" clothing - generally '40s to 60s - not held last year for obvious reasons.

This is the race track on our local Lord -The Earl Of March's estate and was the vitally important Westhampnett airfield during the Battle Of Britain and later.

I've driven this track in a friends Cobra once and this is where I flew in a Spitfire in July. Plenty of Spitfires will be in the air this weekend!

Watch it live on

The Moss tribute was quite moving.

I just finished watching the 1.5L F1 race; we need to get back to something like that as there was real racing going on with real passes.

We'll see how next year's F1 cars do.

The Earl of March? I haven't heard that name since Henry IV Part One.

Yeah, we call him Charlie March, but he has quite a few titles:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charle...ke_of_Richmond

He has a little bit of West Sussex (about 12,000 acres!) including "Glorious Goodwood" horse racing course (where my stepson works) and the airfield (from where I flew in the Spitfire a few weeks ago) and the Racing circuit which was the perimeter road during the war when it was Westhampnett - a major fighter station during the battle of Britain, until the end of the war.

We tend to call him the Earl of March, because that's also the name of the local pub!

Looks like a nice selection of old-school American iron on hand as well:
