I saw that! Very cool, considering everyone loves the quality of the PZ Pre but wishes it had dedicated EQ for its two inputs.

I never was impressed with the tonality of the PZ-Pre or PZ-Deluxe, the PADI sounds better to me actually. However, depending on price point (the PZ-Pre is only $299), I will probably give this a try. Seems Radial has been taking notes from Grace Design. I would expect the PZ-Pro to be sub $500, hopefully no more than $350-$400.

I am also quite keen on the parallel fx loop and its dry/wet blend knob. I was looking into similar blender pedals recently that basically convert a serial loop into a parallel blender circuit. Assignable foot switches and other options, and plenty of EQ control on both channels.

The Grace Design Felix has a built-in power supply. The Radial has an external one. I think it could make a difference. If the provided wallwart is from inferior quality.

I also remember Michal Grace saying that one of the Key factor of the Felix was the power supply which if I remember well is a commercially available SMPS with extra filtering and regulation stages added by Grace Design. Clean power makes clean preamp.

I heard in the video and see a reference to 48v phantom power for an external condenser mic. If Radial did not include provision for lower voltage internal mics (electret), they've missed the market. Surely they know better?

I've been using the PZ-Pre for a while now (I've actually got 2 of them), and this new unit is more or less what I've hoped for a while Radial would create to address some of the limitations of the original unit. Clicks all the switches for me. Since I recently re-worked one of my pedalboards in a way that no longer calls for one of my PZ's, I might just sell both of them and pickup one of these new units come March!

I think this is a great design. I like the optional HPF/Notch filter.

That's actually a compromise I'm not quite happy about. Different functions that should be usable together on both channels, although the fact that the HPF's are variable is great, an improvement over the two, fixed-point options on the original unit.

Finally! I remember before I bought the Grace Design Felix, I so wanted the Pz-Pre to have all of the features that the Pz-Pro has. I never understood the logic of the Pz-Pre. It's good to see that Radial went back to the drawing board and made a unit like this. I think at $499.00, it will really give players a great alternative to the much more expensive Felix. I had a Pz-Deluxe and thought it sounded incredible, probably the best my guitars have ever sounded. It was a bit noisy though so I hope this isn't an issue with the Pz-Pro. I could see myself getting one down the road.
