Words???? Even though I'm not a singer I don't even bother with the words. Beyond hooks I probably couldn't recite the lyrics from any song post Beatles .

It's just a different tool in the toolbox. The digital version of the three ring binder. Some use them, some don't.

Maybe not lazy. We pay our time, attention, money etc. on the things that are truly important to us. Keeping your memory sharp on chords, progressions and lyrics is no longer important to you. Its still important to me at 55. I have 300 - 400 songs ready to go, committed to memory. I make up my set list and print that out.
