Default Featherlight [original song]

Thanks for listening. Here it is:

Original post and rehearsal track below. I still think this one is for a female vocal and D is the key (which would let me keep the DADGAD vibe) but I had to move it up for my voice

Original post

I wrote this about/for my youngest (Kitty). It’s not finished but I was trying it out in DADGAD at 5. I think it should be up in C or D and needs a female vocal.

Anyway, Kitty (2 and a half and the song is for her) was sitting at the table with me - she chimes in with her verdict at the end.

Rough, unfinished and maybe the songs not worth much but this track is a keeper

The song is called Feather light. It's a work in progress.

That’s really delightful. A really pretty song and only made better by the background sounds of your little one! Definitely a keeper.

Yes, precious is the right word! The whole thing just makes me smile, Coler! What a sweet experience and wonderful to catch that in a recording.

I had so many experiences like that when my children were little. The whole thing makes me feel very wistful. There is nothing quite like watching little human beings grow up. It's pretty wonderful.

Thanks for this, Coler!

- Glenn

Thanks guys - I got a slightly more polished recording, now added to the first post - but I surely kept the best bit from the practice session

I prefer the first picked version to be honest, the guitar sounds so nice!

I think the song is great… that your guitar has such a bell ringing tone… and that you again sound like GLightfoot!

Well done.

Thanks so much for checking them out. I think the trick here is going to be moving it right up to D, so it keeps the DADGAD vibe.

Thanks Sal that's incredibly high praise and I'll take it!

It surely is a sweet guitar.

I love this.
Great lyrics and you sing them beautifully.
I can totally imagine this with a female voice like you said and maybe some layered harmonies mixed in with your voice.
