Tom Doerr Trinity - Lutz/Birdseye 12 fret 00 with Cutaway and Bevel - SOLD
I’ve had lots of interest for this guitar previously but had to pull the listing as I wasn’t ready to let it go... anyway, times are tough and getting tougher so here it is again. It’s a beauty and a bargain so grab it while you can! Any help hosting pics is appreciated, I can’t get flickr to work. SOLD
Recent commission from Tom Doerr. Lutz spruce over a mesmerizing set of birdseye maple. A Ryan style bevel and florentine cutaway are only a couple of the finely executed details throughout, the photos don’t come close to capturing the beauty of this guitar. Triple laminated side construction allows the top to vibrate without dissipating energy to the sides. Built with a clean aesthetic and an emphasis on maximum projection for a resonant response from fingerstyle to flatpicking. Comfortable neck profile and generous string spacing combine for very easy fretting. Hate to have to sell this dream guitar but circumstances have thus conspired, guitar has less than an hour play time on it and is essentially new, condition is mint. Tom Doerr had this to say before shipping the guitar: ”Well I got some time playing your guitar this morning. Hard to truly get a impression of what the guitar will be because it's so new and will mature as time goes on. But for a new born I think she's lovely. Clear, articulate, well balanced nice intimate responsive tone but can also take a heavy right hand. Notes are meaty and clear as you go up the neck. As it gets broken in it warms and opens up quite a bit. Looking forward to you seeing and hearing it“ Specs: String spacing @ saddle: 2 11/32” (c-c) Nut width: 1 13/16” String spacing @ nut: 1 9/16” (c-c) Scale length: 25” Fretboard radius: 16” Frets to body: 12 Lower bout: 14 1/2” Upper bout: 9 1/2” Depth at tail: 4 1/2” Depth at heel: 3 3/4” Side dots: Brass Top: Lutz Spruce Back/Sides: Birdseye Maple Neck: Mahogany Neck Profile: ‘54 Contour Fretboard: Ebony Bridge: Ebony Rosette: Ebony Bindings: Ebony/Maple Bevel: Ebony Frets: Nickel/Silver Case: Cedar Creek Last edited by delmastro; 12-08-2020 at 08:00 PM. |

Changed the strings to EJ16s and reacquainted myself with this guitar since listing it again, it’s certainly opening up with just that little bit of attention. The trebles continue to impress, especially. This is growing up into a very fine instrument, indeed.
