Maton EM100J Messiah....New Video.....SOLD
The Messiah Series is just a step below Maton's Custom Shop....if you've shopped them you know that.....otherwise check into the Maton web site for all the info and specs..... This is Maton's "Jumbo", but it's more like most small jumbos or concert jumbos.....it's 1/4" less wide and 1/4" deeper than a Taylor GS (Grand Symphony).....it's brand new....the neck and playability are my favorite of all guitars...that's why I made my Maton EBG808TE my one and only working guitar.....

Love everything about it - was gonna offer my H-13 - except I don't like the built in pickup. It's not the pickup itself, but the barndoor. Hate the idea of cutting a hole in a beautiful piece of wood. Only ever had one like that and got rid of it fairly quickly.
But GLWS. Someone will love it.

Michael.....what a signature you have...sweet..... I am also not a fan of barn door electronics, but after 50 yrs of playing with pickups, I found what I consider to be the best acoustic electronics on the market (spending hundreds, not thousands) the Maton AP5 Pro...so I didn't care how it was mounted ..I took a chance on the Maton EBG808TE after reading a lot of AGF and I'm so glad I did.....didn't care about "unplugged" sound at the time, was looking for the ultimate working guitar, and I found it...
end of story ...for me.....the bonus was the playability of the Maton neck...I've "had" many guitars over the years in the $4000-6000 range and the Maton's neck and fretboard were perfect, and fit my style of playing..... ....the Messiah Jumbo then became my next target...hmmm, maybe the unplugged sound of this guitar will work for me too..it just took so long to find one and even longer to get it in my hands...by then I had decided I would probably spend my 70s writing songs on a smaller, lighter built guitar (like the H-13 I foolishly let go)....so we'll see what happens with the EM100J.....the unplugged tone is beautiful, and having the AP5 Pro in it is just a plus...never hurts to have a backup.....appreciate your post.....

so close to being the perfect guitar......it is for sale, but every time I take it out and play it I think "why would I sell this thing?".....I'm sure many of you have been there...
Matons are still relatively unknown in US compared to most, so I'm probably reaching out to Maton folks...but I have owned/played plenty of $4K-$6K guitars.....I'm adjusting to my retirement/soc sec budget, and the practical side of me says "sell the fine ones, and keep the workhorses" ......that's the only reason to sell this Messiah.....
