Please describe your TOM ANDERSON guitars, pictures would be great..

Especially T (Telecaster) models..

I have 3 Andersons. I bought each one used. This saves a good chunk of money over buying new.

First one I bought about 15 years ago is this rosewood, with solid rosewood neck.







Second one I got about 7 years ago. Koa top. Roasted Maple neck.





Last one I got about 3 or 4 years ago. Quilted maple top.





Here's all 3 together.



I like the Buzz Feiten tuning system. I've recorded with all 3 of them. I don't think you can go wrong with a Tom Anderson. In my opinion, these are the best boutique electrics going.

Yes, the quilted maple has a contoured back. Here's a pic of the back.



The switch configuration is called the "Switcheroo." I copied/pasted the switch descriptions from the Anderson web page. It's a bit confusing. The Blower switch immediately bypasses whatever pickup and volume settings are in place and switches the bridge pickup alone, full volume.

"With the blower switch in the off position, each pickup switch flipped downward turns on the pickup wired in series.

When each pickup switch is flipped upward, you get either split or parallel depending on which function you have assigned to the upward position of each pickup switch.

To assign function:

On the front of the guitar turn the blower switch off (up) and the pickup switches up. Turn your guitar over and remove the control cover on the lower back. This will reveal three micro switches. Flip switches up to assign split; down for parallel.

Pickup Switches: Each pickup switch has an off and on switch. Off is the middle pickup position. Flipping the switch down turns on the pickup wired in series. Flipping the switch up turns on the pickup wired in either parallel or split. (The parallel or split function is assignable--see above)."

Thanks! I got the Rosewood one because I am a huge Beatles fan and especially like George Harrison's rosewood Tele in the "Let it Be" movie. I never thought I could find nor afford a Custom Shop replica, so got the Anderson instead. Surprise! In 2017, I managed to snag one of the GH Tribute models.

I think I first got started looking for one after seeing an ad in Guitar Player magazine that had a killer quilt maple one. Back then they made the bodies entirely out of figured wood instead of just the top...

I've had several, I like the Anderson Strats, but I prefer the Don Grosh Tele's. They are something special.

I’m sure these guitars are fantastic, however, I could never buy one no matter how good it was, with the pickup routing cut so that you can see the pickup wiring. Not all have this, so I’m only referring to those that do.

I simply don’t understand the logic behind that aesthetic, so if there is a reason that’s done, I’d enjoy hearing it.

Are you talking about instances like the bridge pickup in this pic?

It's not really the routing so much as the use of a Tele-style bridge pickup combined with a non-Tele bridge. So it's an instance of wanting to use a Strat-style bridge with a Tele-style bridge pickup. They also offer a more traditional configuration:

That may be the case with the rosewood tele in your pic, but what I'm talking about is every Anderson where the route is bigger than the pickup. I see they can avoid that, as you point out with the picture, but when they don't it just looks like a messy dust trap.
