Default Who participated in the D'Addario coated PB beta test?

For those who tried the beta samples, what were your impressions of these new coated strings?

For coated strings, I thought that they worked quite well. They didn't feel especially slippery, nor did they sound slightly hyped, like Elixirs do to me (which, granted, is my only previous experience with coated strings). The low E didn't thump quite as authoritatively as I'm used to, although I'm thinking that my beta sample was a standard .012 -.053, and not the .013 -.056 gauge that I typically play.

But I thought that the overall tone of the beta strings was well balanced and non-hyped. And they kept a satisfactory tone for perhaps twice as long as uncoated PB, or about as long as monel.

Thanks - I've been on the road lately and I didn't see it.
