WD 40, then loop a nylon string under the shot glass and tie the top of the loop to a pencil so the pencil rests across the top rim of the mug. Then start twisting the pencil so the string twists and forms a turnbuckle. Be sure to wear a glove & drape a hand towel over the top for protection — just in case.
