00-DB Tweedy. It's my only 00. Love the feel, sound, appearance. Great little guitar. Doesn't hurt that I'm a fan of Jeff Tweedy as well.

Without any question at all, the most musically versatile and sonically powerful Double O's I've ever had my hands on are the 12 fret 00-21:
Martin 00-21 These are incredible guitars, little known and thus seldom thought of, but the 12 fret 00-21 is one of Martin's all-time best guitar designs. I have one on order from the Martin Custom Shop. I thought about tracking down and buying an older one, but I've never been terribly enthused about either its 1 7/8" nut width or its slotted headstock. So I ordered one with a modern neck profile, 1 3/4" nut and a solid headstock. Plus, going the Custom Shop route enabled me to get it with an Ambertone top, so that's what I ordered. My favorite is a modernized Gibson L1. Its unique, fits perfectly in my chair and I think beautiful.

Eastman OO Slope Shoulder.
It plays itself. I just hold it, and look good while doing so.

Another Double O-sized guitar I like a lot is the Seagull and/or Simon & Patrick Folk model:
Seagull Folk model I picked up a battered example in a Vancouver, British Columbia pawnshop so I would have a guitar to play while riding the Alaska Marine Highway ferry from Bellingham, Washington to Whittier, Alaska. I paid $225 CDN for it, which translated to $166 USD by that day's exchange rate. It's a dandy guitar, remarkably full-sounding. It's the guitar I keep out on a stand here in my computer/music room, so it gets played quite a bit. whm |

Not a difficult decision to make: yes, sir ... once again, my new Martin 00L-17.
It may not be fancy, but the sound is to die for. I've played this over the last month to several fellow musicians, and the shocked, surprised, and pleased looks have been most gratifying. Shocked because of the volume/projection. Surprised to discover it's a Martin, because, (let's face it), it doesn't look like a Martin. And pleased, because, you'd expect something boxy, thin, and shallow - and the tone of this guitar is anything but. Which is why I can't shut up talking about it. Consider me a new 00 fan. ... JT P.S. Not my picture, but close enough 'til I get the camera operational.

I love the Huss & Dalton 00s - both 12 fret and 14 fret. The T00-14 is so much fun to play and sounds rich and wonderful. I'm currently searching for a used rosewood version.

As some might know, I'm a 12 fret person, and I have pretty much settled on Collings as my preferred maker.
I have Collings 12 fret dreadnoughts, and I have a wonderful 0002h (which is their interpretation of The Martin 00028 which has been part of the Martin product line since 1902. The one Collings that I lust after is the 002h. I have played two, or is it three, and they are wondrous instruments. This is not me, in the following video, but I wanted something to illustrate how Collings have subtly improved on the Martin design and of course, the sound. Tonal balance is the Collings "thing" and this video demonstrates it better than I could. Visually, the sharply cut headstock and the small pyramid bridge instead of the Martin belly bridge, makes this a beautiful instrument that I lust after.
