Neither attracted or repulsed by a signature model. The instrument itself is the most important thing.

It depends. If they are a standard guitar with just the artist name, probably not. If it is a unique model I would consider it. For example I do have an Eric Johnson Strat. There are many things unique about the guitar: the neck, the pickups, the wiring, etc. that uniqueness makes it appealing.

If it just has a different finish... meh.

Personally, I would feel a bit ridiculous owning a signature guitar. I can understand buying one if it's a great guitar in it's own right, but it would make me feel like a kid with a Spiderman watch.

It's a shame really, because I like the idea of those Sheerans Lowdens but I couldn't bring myself to buy one.

YMMV, etc

Virtually all guitars have someone's name on it – Martin, Taylor, Fender, Lowden, etc.. The 'Sheeran by Lowden' guitars are not signature guitars but a new brand. If in all other respects they are a good guitar, why on earth would you give a monkey's what's written on the headstock? You can always stick a bit of tape over the name if it bothers you that much.

I'd probably be turned off by the additional price I'd have to pay in order to get a signature on my guitar, but I had no idea so many members would be repulsed by the idea. Interesting... I just want good sound and feel. Maybe I'm too simple.

Most of the signature guitars I see are for artists I hardly knew or hardly liked.
I think the signature of a Founding Father would interest me though, especially on a Strat.

The only signature model I've had was the Epiphone EJ160e John Lennon signature. I loved that little guitar. The Lennon signature was very tasteful. But eventually it just couldn't keep up with the big boys. Sold it.

Same here Kerbie. Me thinks they might protest too much....

I also kind of wonder as we see all these posts that say looks don't matter and the only thing that does is how a guitar sounds and plays.....

No not typically. I did own one 000-28 EC for a while but it didn't last long. Not that it wasn't a fine guitar but I'm a dread guy. Don't own anything smaller? Oddly enough I used to own a CS OM-28VTS and I dubbed it my "wedding and funeral" guitar! Only times I ever played it so I let it go. Now those same functions are served with dreads...
