You know the guitar is fantastic when the bridge and bridge pins alone make you want to drool!!!

Commercial break:
McJam - June 24 and 25, 2022 The #15 McJam is coming this June and you can help us celebrate our 30 years as McKnight Guitars. I am now seeking donations as door prizes from any business or individual. You can send your choice of any item(s) and your business card so we can advertise for you. No item is too big or to small. It may be new or slightly used. What can you share with us? Everyone enjoys a freebie! I am always looking for something, which need not be musically inclined, so we can educate the McJammers and share in the information and lessons we each learn. Contact me ([email protected]) anytime before June 15 so I know your item is on the way.

After the neck has been bolted and glued to the body and before the fretboard is ready to accept frets we chalk the entire surface using the grandkids side walk chalk:
Then I sand a "Transitional Relief" into the fretboard's surface. This was an amazing technique taught to me by Dave and Hesh at Ann Arbor Guitars. If you've ever played one of their guitar set ups with what Dave calls his "Transitional Relief" you know what the difference can feel like? |

Nipping the tang from the ends of the Evo Gold fret wire to provide clearance above the outer fretboard edge bindings:
The FB has been Transitional Relief sanded and the fret ends nipped and filed its time to press the frets into their new home position: After the fret ends have been dressed and glued its time to apply our Lustrous Conditioning Balm to the fretboard for a relaxing overnight soak: |

We have been selling the fret board balm often enough that he has made another batch to keep up with demands. This is good. The shop smells less like the finish sprays and more like a soft inviting fragrance. It's a nice change for this old lady.

Its time to string it up:
Cut the nut: And vibrate it for 3 days to allow everything to settle in prior to the final set up: |

Much as I'd like to follow your threads, I'm afraid I don't, as the photos are so enormous that they take an eternity to download, before automatically reducing to a size to suit the forum. Perhaps because my broadband isn't very. Other people's threads don't seem to have this problem. (Sorry)

There are so many mornings when I would like to be steeped in a hot tub of Earl Grey tea.

Hold that thought Kurt. I just ordered 7,352 Earl Grey tea bags and according to my rough calculations that should be enough to do the job.

Tim, I do encounter the same phenomenon described by Dave (e.g., the photos load as gigantic images slowly and reduce in size when loaded), but perhaps I have a better internet connection so it passes relatively quickly (like a 10 second delay). I do not encounter this on other posts.
