Default Gibson Custom Shop 1934 Original Jumbo

**SOLD**

Up for sale is a Gibson Custom Shop 1934 original jumbo built in 2013. This is a really cool Gibson with a nice vintage sound. Recreated using the specs from an actual 1934 vintage jumbo, it's a fairly accurate copy (except for the neck binding perhaps) in all ways. Adirondack spruce top, mahogany back, sides and neck with a sunburst finish around the whole body. Standard Waverly tuners and a pearl script logo on the period tapered headstock. The nitro finish also appears to be a lot thinner than most new Gibson's I have owned/played.

The neck on this one is a BEEFY V shape, if you don't like big necks then this probably isn't the guitar for you. The action is setup nice and low without any buzzing and I find it very comfortable overall. Other specs include: smaller sound-hole diameter, bone nut and saddle, 25" scale length, 1.75" nut width, 2-3/8" string spacing, firestripe pickguard, and all original Gibson paperwork. Also, on the Gibson product page for this guitar it lists it as one of a limited run of 100 guitars made. The case that comes with this guitar is a cool repro redline model with purple interior made by Cedar Creek, it's awesome! These guitars sell new for around $6k.

Condition: Excellent/mint. No fret wear, no dings, some minor swirling on the pickguard and maybe some very, very light pick marks on the top but nothing major at all.

This is a big sounding guitar! The bass is deep and resonant and everything sounds really together when strummed. It's warm and sweet when flat picked but still with enough drive from the Adirondack to give it some power, it's really a fun guitar to play. Definitely a difference from some of the other J-35 reissues I've played, less surface/top based sound and more of a depth of tone from the body of the guitar if that makes sense.

I like big necks and I cannot lie...most other brothers won't deny... Anyway I can't wait to see this guitar .

I have one of the first run of these (without the bound fretboard). I love it. Almost sold it because of the 3/16 spacing. They must have gotten this one right if the spacing is wider. In the end, I could not get rid of it. Special guitar.

I'm interested but need to make sure it's at least 2 1/4 string spacing at the saddle. Most Gibson's aren't that wide.

String spacing has been verified at 2-3/8" which would make it wider than 2-1/4"

I am entertaining the idea of a trade now. I would be interested in Collings guitars, Martin Marquis and Golden Eras, and some Santa Cruz or Bourgeois as well. Also, if anyone has a nice Collings mandolin I may be interested in that as well.

Thanks!

That's what I thought. Too bad. Don't know why Gibson always makes their guitars with that narrower string spacing. Oh well, it still looks like a great guitar for someone who isn't as finicky as I am.

My bad, I was looking on an iPhone and thought it was 2 1/8. On the desktop computer and can see it now. Good to hear!

So you going to buy it, or do you ask the string spacing in every Gibson post for giggles?
