Thank you Rick!

Yes, the 12-string was a challenge on the verses but made the choruses fun! Thanks so much for commenting!

This was great. I particularly enjoyed the contrast of the finger style arrangement of the verses and the strumming of the chorus. Well done.

Default 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover by Paul Simon (cover)

I also used my Guild F512 12-string because it has so much punch on the chorus.

The 12-string does tend to somewhat muddy up the sounds of the jazz chords that Paul Simon used on the verses, but after experimenting with other guitars, I wanted the sound of that big chorus from the 12-string.

I hope you like this. [emoji4] Thanks once again for listening!

Wow. I am confused and surprised, yet wholly enjoyed. The verses has the expected Glenn Willow amazing guitar and signature vocals. What surprised me was that I think this song demonstrated more of Glenn’s vocal range and chops on the chorus than I could have anticipated and even knew he had. Commanding performance.

OK. Now that I’ve read the other comments, my observations aren’t original. But I stand by them!

Cheers!

Dave

Hi Dave!

Thanks so much for your comments! I'm so glad you thought that this came out okay!

I do agree, there is quite a contrast between verses and chorus in this song. It's not just my approach; Paul Simon in his recording of this song has quite a contrast between verses and chorus, too. I think he was poking fun at himself and at this lady who, at least in the song, was propositioning him with her careful language in the verse -- "it's not my habit to intrude, furthermore, I hope my meaning won't be lost or misconstrued" -- and yet in the chorus she makes no pretense of politeness or being careful -- "Slip out the back, Jack, make a new plan, Stan, no need to be coy, Roy, just get yourself free... hop on the bus Gus, there's no need to discuss much." It's quite comical and kind of tongue-in-cheek, I think.

In any event, Dave, I am so glad you enjoyed this and I very much appreciate your positive comments! Thanks so much!!
