Here's my 1998 PRS CE-22. I bought it last January. I played it last night and though distortion it has a great, crisp tone. Very different than my LP/SGs (as you would expect). It doesn't get much playing time but when it does I'm glad I picked this one up.

My only PRS:

I really appreciate their build quality and a passionate founder at it.

The Hollow Body here is departed by my GAS killer Collings but it was a wonderful guitar. The fair way to put it is I believe I just prefer guitar tones that have 1930s - 1950s roots because I don't have a Gibson either.

I just received my first Asian built PRS, a Baritone SE 277, sunburst.
Beautiful building quality, exceeded my expectation, really a different experience to hang out with low notes. I've been enjoying PRS'i since 1998. The Indonesian models are a good deal.

I had one of the earlier ones. Around 1986 or 1987 I picked one up at Sam Ash on 48th St in NYC. Wish I still had it. Might get another one some day.

I've been at that Sam Ash a few times but I never bought a guitar there. 48th Street used to be quite the musical street.

Are there any models that you're interested in?

I'm sure it was great.

There was an SE Bernie Marsden on sale here last week on the local classifieds and I was interested but at $600 it seemed a little on the high side.

I own a Hollowbody Spruce w/Piezo, and a SC58. As I have also acquired a Historic ‘59 Gibson 335 and a 93 Les Paul Standard, I have come to appreciate even more the obviously superior PRS’s. They stay in tune, are more stable and you don’t need to rush out and buy different pickups.

The Gibson’s fill a role, but the PRS’s are in a different league.

Nice, and I get that. I had fun when I had a bunch of guitars including my PRS. What strikes me about your post is my SoCo 16 covers all of what a 335 does, what a PRS is, and pickups more like an associates 1960 335.

More and more I wonder how good most of the vintage guitars were, if the percentage of truly good ones was like Gibson is now. I think PRS is among a few who are probably making more best guitars than every occurred in the past.

The whole vintage thing is cool. I have the wonderful privilege to be near some - Dave’s, CME, two shops in my city, some people I’ve jammed with. Most of them have characteristics people don’t find acceptable with lots of new guitars. PRS here as an example and Collings have all output that’s pretty much perfect. They might even have similar numbers of people making their stuff.

At times I miss that PRS HB overall compact and light design but I want to keep happily GAS-free.

That’s a really nice looking setup - not just the guitar! Those colors are a favorite PRS finish because to me it is the eye popping stained look and shows the natural wood color too.

I don’t know those exact amps. Are you in a band or do you take it to or host jams?

Looking at all the neat stuff people have is dangerous but I’m still holding steady at GAS-free.

Thanks I like the finnish on also
That is tube Supro 1642 Titan on top a 50 watt. 1 X 10 combo with a 1 x 12 Extension Cabinet under it (have no clue on Supro's model number system )
The other amp is an Orange Crush RT 20 SS Practice amp w HeadPhone cutout

No I am currently not in band and have not taken it out yet

Although this summer I may start sitting in occasionally with a band
