National Acoustic Guitar Day... almost

I’m a fairly regular visitor to the National Days website where you can see what weird National Day it may be — National Pumpkin Pie Day, National Unmatching Socks Day, whatever. Anyway, some months ago, I submitted an idea for National Acoustic Guitar Day — June 12 (6/12, representing six and 12-string guitars — get it?) and they accepted it. They only accept about 30 out of 18,000 suggested ideas a year, apparently. So yay, it’s approved — almost — because for it to get on their actual National Days, you have the choice of paying $20,000, $50,000 or $100,000, depending on what promotional “package” you want. I of course can see some giant corporation doing that, but certainly not me. I do get that it’s their website, and I’m a big supporter of the free market and all that, but holy cow, their website is full of weird little National Days that I’d be amazed at someone spending thousands of dollars to get on their calendar. Anyway I emailed them some questions to make sure I’m understanding it all correctly, but I think I do.

Yep...this is very cool. Wish it got promoted more. Would love to step out on the porch with my guitar that day and find the whole neighborhood rocking.
