I had a Cordoba Fusion Spruce over maple a while back that I really liked. I am waiting now on a Taylor 214 ce-Nylon. I got to play one a while back at a local store, but it sold before I decided to get it, so I put another one on order. I really liked the sound and feel of that guitar... had a good deal of crispness and clarity to it. Some nylons sound kind of muddled, but this one had a very articulate presence to it without being overbright or lacking in low end. I hope the one that arrives is as nice.

I also had a Cordoba GK-Studio Negra... good for flamenco, but seemed a little brash for anything else. I did like the pickup system in it.

Best? That depends on the owner/player and that evaluation may likely change with time, experience, and needs...

I've owned a Taylor NS42ce, Cordoba Fusion Orchestra 12. The Taylor was weak tonally and the Cordoba was a little too traditional sounding for me and I didn't like the feel of the neck. Not that is was a bad guitar, we just needed to move on.

The last few years, I've owned a Yamaha APX5na and Takamine TC135sc. I enjoy the Takamine and Yamaha better than the Taylor and Cordoba. I did some work on the Yamaha and find that I play it more than any guitars I've owned. I really like the feel and tone (unplugged and plugged) of my Takamine. I'll have to spend several more thousand dollars to move up. Two note boutique guitars I've played and would really like to own some day are; Buscarino Starlight and Cabaret, or a Kirk Sands Classic.

I had a Breedlove crossover, but it had a baseball bat neck. My current crossover is a Cordoba Gypsy Kings Studio Negra.

I like the Cordoba GK and the Yamaha NTX. They both play and sound good.

That's a wonderful recording.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but a Ramirez 2CWE might be worth considering as well, although my preference would be the Cervantes line of crossovers.

Also a Cervantes crossover owner. I have the Crossover 2. Has a wider neck than the Crossover 1 but keeps the radius'd fretboard. Love the playability and the tone.

I owned one of the original generation of Taylor nylon strings. I think it was a NS312 or something like that. It was a very nice guitar, but not very loud, as I recall. Nice thing about Taylor is they continue to evolve their sound with each generation, so I suspect the newer NS range sound better than the one I had.

They do sound better than the old ones. I just picked up a new 414ce-N and played a show with it a couple days later. Learned a few things about how I need to play the instrument during the show but it sounded nice.

I'm not a big fan of crossovers, but one that does intrigue me is the Eastman Cabaret JB. It was designed in conjunction with John Buscarino and it's a lower cost version of his Cabaret archtop (archback?). However, they seem to be hard to find in the wild.

Today I went to try 3 guitars, a Furch, the above mentioned Martin and a Yamaha NTX5/NCX5.

In terms of acoustic sound, I liked the Furch most, followed by the Martin then the Yamaha.
I didn’t try but I guess the Yamaha probably has the best plugged in sound system.

Only wish the Furch’s nut width was a tad wider. I liked the Martin’s nut width spacing best.
