Aluminum Bronze Strings
There have been a few posts in the "General" section in the past few months about Ernie Ball aluminum bronze strings.
I picked up a set of 13's back in early March. The D'addarrio nickel bronze strings on my converted Eastman AR605 had worn out so I put on the aluminum's. Wow! A real different tone. Very loud, punchy, almost a reverb-like quality. Not the traditional archtop sound, but a new sound which so far I'm enjoying. |

I used aluminium bronze strings for a while, until my local outlet stopped carrying them. I found them very good, I liked them a lot. Kind of an open sound with clarity.
